I’m a freelance writer and journalist in Chicago.
I write about culture, urban development, architecture, politics, social justice, and books. My work has appeared in Chicago Magazine, Chicago Reader, Block Club Chicago, Chicago Review of Books, South Side Weekly, and Electric Literature, among other publications.
I'm a Contributing Culture Critic with Chicago Magazine and a Fiction Editor at Arcturus, an online literary magazine and sister publication to the Chicago Review of Books that publishes new perspectives in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
I was born in China and raised in Orlando, Florida. After graduating from the University of Central Florida in 2016, I moved to Chicago, Illinois, where I currently live with my cat. By day, I work as a staff writer at Reviews.com, where I write about banking, credit cards, and fintech.
Here are a few stories I’ve written recently…
On Frank Lloyd Wright’s affordable housing aspirations (South Side Weekly)
On writing transracial adoption into literature (Electric Literature)
On empowering community involvement in Chicago zoning laws (South Side Weekly)
